Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving, a traditional U.S. holiday, is typically celebrated with family and friends. In an effort to give international students and their families an opportunity to experience this unique American holiday, OIS hosts its annual Thanksgiving Dinner every November. Students in attendance are able to enjoy traditional Thanksgiving food and hospitality on campus while learning about the origin of the holiday and its significance in American culture.

Thanksgiving Dinner 2017

On Thursday, November 17, 2017 the Office of International Services hosted the 6th Annual OIS Thanksgiving Dinner. The event brought together over 670 international students, scholars, and their families for a traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and more. For many members of the UIC international community, the OIS Thanksgiving Dinner was their first experience with the holiday and a valuable opportunity to share in its spirit of thanks and community.
