U.S. Resumes Limited Nonimmigrant Visa Services in Turkey

On October 8, 2017, the U.S. Embassy in Turkey announced that it had suspended all non-immigrant visa services at all U.S. diplomatic facilities in Turkey. On November 6, the Embassy announced that it would resume processing non-immigrant visas on a limited basis. Details regarding the resumption of services, including a list of common questions, can be found on the U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Turkey’s website.

The Office of International Services encourages those members of the UIC international community who would normally apply for a nonimmigrant visa in Turkey to plan the timing of any visa applications or renewals carefully as limited appointment times and delayed processing may be a reality at the consulates. As always, OIS Advisors are available for consultation during Open Advising.
