The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford provides world-class medical training and offers health related services to Northern Illinois. The College of Medicine is internationally recognized as a leader in medical education and research. The College of Medicine at Rockford serves as the principal educator of health service professionals as a major healthcare provider for Rockford and the underserved communities in northern Illinois.  Among the programs offered at the Rockford campus include the Master of Science in Biotechnology (MBT) and Rural Medical Education (RMED) Program.  The campus consists of 20 acres in the heart of Rockford, Illinois.

About the Rockford Community

The city of Rockford is home to almost 300,000 people and is the third largest city in the state of Illinois. The Rock River flows through the middle of town and provides the city with its name. Rockford is also known as the “Forest City” for its abundance of trees and assorted greenery.  In addition to UIC’s College of Medicine, the city’s major employers include other healthcare providers, including Swedish American and Saint Francis Hospitals.
