Tax Preparation Software

The Office of International Services has recently purchased CINTAX tax-preparation software to help members of the UIC international community complete their 2009 Federal Tax Returns.

Individuals earning income in the US during 2009 are required to submit a tax return to the Federal and State government.

CINTAX will only help you prepare your Federal tax return. You will be responsible for completing and filing your Illinois tax return separately. You can download the Illinois tax forms by visiting the Illinois Department of Revenue website. You will need to complete Form IL-1040 and Schedule NR.

If you have not received income during 2009, but were present in the US during that year, you will need to complete federal tax form 8843.

Tax forms must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2010. Copies of tax forms will not be available at OIS.

Laurette Kirstein Scholarship

The Laurette Kirstein Scholarship is a scholarship exclusively offered for international students at UIC.  In 2010, there will be five awards offered of $5,000 each to international students who display academic excellence and meet the standardized requirements.
Completed applications are due on Friday, February 19, 2010 by 4:00pm to University Hall, Room 2506.
